What a difference a year makes!

We all know the saying, "What a difference a year makes", but there couldn't be a truer statement about this past year. Not only was I able to witness the historical event one year ago today of the election of our first Afro-American president, but I also experienced an event on this day that has forever changed my life. Exactly one year ago Sean & I created the most amazing individual that I have ever meet and for the rest of my life I get to say "yes, that's my daughter"! Lawson is absolutely, without a doubt, the best thing that I've ever done. For years I dreamed about her, what would she look like, what type of personality would she have, would she have my eyes, my mouth or my toes. Would she have dark hair or light, would she be athletic, would she be smart, would she make me want to pull my hair out. Everything that I ever dreamed up in my head is no comparison to the little individual person that I hold in my arms every night and rock to sleep. She is above and beyond my wildest dreams and more than I ever imagined. I can honestly say that I have known no greater love. I tell her every day that she is Mommy's morning sunshine and my starry night. To me she is perfection and I don't know how I've lived my life all this time without her.

Some questions have already been answered - yes she has my mouth, she has her uncle's toes and sometimes she makes me want to pull my hair out. I look forward everyday to getting the answers to the other questions and seeing where the journey of her life leads me.

Lawson,

You are the light of my life. You have brought me more joy than you could ever know. I hope I do right by you and you grow up proud to have me as your mother. No matter what life throws at us, always know that I love you with my complete being and you are truely my dream come true!

All my love,
Mommy

Three Months

Can you beleive it's been three months since this world was graced with the most beautiful ray of sunshine? Time surely is flying by! Yesterday we took Lawson on her very first trip to the pumpkin farm. Let's just say that it didn't go quiet as we planned. It was a very cloudy cold and windy day. We weren't able to get any pictures of Lawson actually in the pumpkin patch because we had to keep her swaddled up and warm. I was able to capture one small picture of her on the hayride. However we still had a good time. Lawson's friend Dakota and his mom went with us and I think he really enjoyed it, so it wasn't a total fail. Anyway here are a few pictures; they had some really huge pumpkins there. I foresee Lawson beggin' her daddy for one of the big ones in the years to come.

Here's a little video for your viewing pleasure. It has absolutly nothing to do with our trip to the pumpkin patch. It's Lawson 'talking' to her best friend Lola.

10 Weeks

Lawson is 10 weeks old today! I can't believe how much she has changed. Before I know it she will be posting pictures and videos of her child on a blog for me to look at, but let's not think about that! Let's just focus on the lil milestones she accomplishing right now - like smiling, "talking", and her latest thing is trying to sit up from a reclined position. She goes for her 2 month check-up next Wednesday and will be getting her first round of vaccinations (4 shots!!!!). I wonder who will cry more - her, me or her daddy!!!! She's definitely already a "daddy's girl" and everytime I see him with her it makes me fall in love with him even more. He is great with her and he is the BEST thing that's ever happen to me. I thank God for him everyday! He has changed my life, because without him I wouldn't have Lawson and the two of them are everything I've ever asked for!

Here are a few videos of Lawson enjoying "tummy time". It took a while but she's starting to enjoy this nightly routine and as you can see loves her new friend - Mr. Magic Music Star.

Here's one of her telling me all about her day and given me great big smiles.
